Hate

Growing up the word “hate" was forbidden in my house. We kids was told to use dislike and not hate. In the Bible God hates many times, so why were we not allowed to hate growing up? Now, that I am older I understand- first as being hated, a lot, and second, being able to have an open mind to understanding why hate is not healthy or good… for the most part.

Hate can lead to murder, lack of understanding, shunning, behaving wrong towards people, regretting decisions, and much more; yet it might be necessary if used correctly. I'll explain how later but for now let's unpack why hate is no good for us. In fact, Jesus teaches on love instead. Inciting rather to turn the other cheek when an opponent arrives to give you some evil dose of poison for you to hate them in return; but hate can destroy, in fact it is a close relative of destroy.

When someone hates they most often will do something that is not morally correct and down right wrong. Why do people do bad things when they hate? Like seriously why? Why can people not just hate without action? Yet it is so important for people to behave poorly when they are in those feelings.

If hate is out in the world and destruction is a close relative what would be the opposite, we all know it's love. Some people will argue with me and say it's not love, rather indifference, but that's just hogwash! Indifference is clearly just in a lane of its own. With indifference one will neither react because they don't have feelings one way or another in the love or hate realm, right? However if we can become indifferent when we hate or while we hate them, we can subtract bad actions towards others. The negativity and wrong doings is not going to make anything better, only worse.

Look at it like this, say you are right for hating someone who is a horrible person, they deserve every bad thing they get, blah blah blah-(Which you in no way should be wanting this for anyone.) Ok well you hating them none the less but what is it doing for you though? Is it making things worse; when you will most likely do something making you have a bad mark on your name in the eyes of Jesus.

Is that why Hate is even a thing? To tempt people to do bad to their brothers/another? To have bad feelings for your whole life where someone is tied to you in some way, like an antibody would be in your DNA? That you live in negativity?

What would be the other option if you didn't want to add another negative piece to your ever growing DNA? Forgiveness and to make a choice to move on. People act like they can't choose to get over something. No, they choose to hold on. They choose to hate.

To end this brief rant I would like to say I am not sure why God hated but if I was to guess, I would say it's a way to make God better. If he was to so choose to learn from that situation of the hating he would learn what to be around in future scenarios. And what his self goes against. So for learning and understanding to grow would be the only reason I can think of for a ounce of good of a hate feeling.
