Is Jesus- God The Father?

Many Christians believe that Jesus is God incarnate, that he took on human flesh to come save the world. To rescue people from themselves and bring people to him to be saved. I believe they are separate beings, that God is not the son. My reasoning for this is more personal as I don't feel like God would take a human form, rather he would send someone for that. I like to view God as the same and not changing; and the Most High at all times. I also do not think he needs to take a human form and it would not do justice as he knows everything already and cannot be around sin.

There are many verses in the Bible that show God is not Jesus. Mathew 24:36 states “Only God the Father in Heaven knows the times to come and can tell this.” This was spoken by Jesus; the reason being is because God alone is the only most high. These verses show that God is not Jesus:

  • Matthew 26:39 and Luke 22:42 "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet not my will, but yours be done"

  • John 17:1: "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you" (His prayer for his disciples)

  • Luke 23:34: "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do" (from the cross).

  • John 11:41-42: Jesus prays before raising Lazarus, saying, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the sake of the crowd standing around, that they may believe that you sent me".

Jesus is our intercessor for God like Moses was. If it wasn't for Moses God would have destroyed the people. We need a “go between” because God cannot be around sin, the people want someone who can relate to them as human, and to fulfill the covenant.

This is why Jesus is the only true, legitimate Ruler, as he is the only one who is able to resist sin because he does everything like God would want. In other words he knows his place, and is not willing to lose sight when things get warped. So let's say there were one million potato chips in a bag. They all have a chance to do whatever they choose. They all decide to add salt to themselves or sprinkle on barbecue, vinegar, or salt. One potato chip decides to just stay how they were made in the bag. This is Jesus.

Some verses that people claim proves that Jesus is God himself,

  • "Before Abraham was, I AM" (John 8:58)

  • "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30)

  • "God with us" (Matthew 1:23)

  • John 5:18: "My Father is working until now, and I am working." (This statement led to attempts to kill Him for making Himself equal with God)

  • John 14:9: "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father." (Equating seeing Himself with seeing God).

  • John 1:1: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

So we can see how people would get confused; but nowhere in the Bible does Jesus actually say he is the Father incarnate and we can see there would be no way he would ask the Father to remove his crucifixion if he himself is God. Furthermore I think it is to show how human Jesus really is, and how much pain he was going through because he loved the Father and wanted to obey him.

Now the verses where he is stating to be “One with God” - are simply following in your father's footsteps. It's like when your role model does something, then you want to do it, to be just like them. Or how last names all follow the occupation of the male and his descendants- to continue in their fathers footsteps. Also He is able to have the wisdom and everything God would have if he was a human. It's like saying I am one with the country, you represent that country and its beliefs and so on.

John 1:1 gets more tricky because he is saying the word is God but it's stating that Jesus is the messiah (God with us) and the Kingdom that will not be destroyed- built by God; so it's always been predestined, like a woman is predestined to have a baby because she is born that way to hold a baby and so will have a child. God which means that one person is worthy enough to do what God would want and earn the title and is predestined and was with God all along, like an egg in a mother. If we look at Psalm 127 ("Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain") this verse is why I believe Jesus is showing us what he means when he says that he and God are one. He doesn't move on his own doing what he wants, he moves how God would want so whatever he encounters in life will stand and not fall, because without the Creator there is nothing, Nothing is everlasting, nothing can hold up to God. As we see in Daniel 2:44 is a key verse about God setting up His everlasting kingdom: "And in the days of these kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom, “which shall never be destroyed, nor shall its sovereignty be left to another people; but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever"

To continue on, yes it is true Jesus is both fully God and fully human. But it's not because he is God incarnate. It is because God put his holy spirit in the world. So basically Jesus is able to be tempted by sin because he was born in the world, he was not perfect because he got angry among other things,  (John 2:12-25). Nor does the bible say he is perfect. But it was made perfect. When he says “it is finished on the cross” Being perfect is, wholeness completion, without needing nothing.

Jesus was sinless, though Jesus was not in perfection as he had to pay the price for sin and therefore  could not be in a state of “completion” until it was done. But he had the weight of sin placed on him, yet he knew not sin. So as the bible states he was sinless, 2 John 3:9 “No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him,and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God” If Jesus always had God and was born of God he cannot sin, sin meaning to transgress against God and do what your own self think is best and not keeping the law. James 1:14-15 “ but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.” (Think of sin as this- you know your parents don't want you to lie yet you lie because you don't care about what your parents say you are going to do what you want to do. -Not because if you lie you will save a life. God wouldn't use sin like that)

***stay tuned because I have part 3 of Zodiacs and the Fallen and also the rest of the story from above into one part for you tomorrow thanks.
