Matthew 11:29 explained

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Mathew 11:29

       Such a magnificent verse from Jesus himself. He is saying if you follow his example of his life you will be better off. He makes a lot of statements like this one that is saying the same things like-  “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”  To take up one's cross means all your sins and human ways of falling short of the glory of God needs to be acknowledged, and put in the forefront so you can put it behind you and walk humbly and meekly to better yourself.                                                                

    To deny oneself is clearly to stop doing what one's own self thinks. Because we really do not know what we want or need. It's like we can envision for ourselves only a limited amount to what we really can accomplish and achieve. I mean even if one can imagine the most out of life, like world domination, God could imagine something better. Jesus wants people to understand that truly being the best you can be involves you taking him as your leader and surrendering your life to him and following his footsteps. It is the only way, I promise.
