What’s on the list for your holiday meal this November? Have you grabbed all the national favorites that are in line with the traditional thanksgiving holiday? Sweet potato dessert, stuffing, cranberry mixed in with turkey and dressing delight? Don’t forget the goodness buttery rolls with mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. And of course all the drinks to wash it down with.
What a lovely holiday, I must say. Family gatherings, sports in the back yard and your chance just to add to the Christmas shopping.
Do you write down your thanksgiving list for the year? Who has helped you throughout the year during difficulties, who has made your life just a tad more cozy. Being thankful to your neighbors is a great way to an ending of the year and a praiseworthy mindset to continue as your opening the 2026. There are many bible verses to encourage a praise for our God and people one being Psalm 107:1 “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!”
It’s nice to know we have a God that loves unconditionally and will protect us in a scary world. It’s easy to be thankful to God when you can see things clearly in this world and understand his love brings us through all the gloom and turmoil around us. Also to keep us renewed each day with strength. Also if you ever depart from God he is always there to welcome you home and show you the way you need to be.
Another good verse is Colossians 3:15: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” If you believe in Jesus and invite him into your heart to live and the holy spirit, good works will be done and your calling of the good news and goodness itself will grow in this world, which, no doubt, is desperately needed to help others achieve the same.
Gratitude is never a weakness, rather it instills a gift that you might now realize because consistent gratitude keeps you grounded and without a prideful attitude.
Such a holiday as Thanksgiving is a nice way to appreciate it. And to honor your thanksgiving heart to God, our father, and although you’re going through a time of great sorrow or whatever it might be still remember he will bring you through and make you a better person because of it.
