Walking on water vs. Money and run?

To adorn oneself with gold and beauty and braids and makeup. My last post speaks on this topic and I would like to cover it more in detail.
Adorn refers to both literally outer appearance and figuratively for spiritual qualities like good works -to enhance and embellish. God Adorns his people (Ezekiel 16). So we see that adornment if understood and used correctly, is OK.
Lets look at 1 Peter 3:3-4 verse 3 “whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of the meet and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”
So lets say I want to get dressed up and braid my hair (or any style to attract and enhance) including makeup etc (and sadly men are not excluded in today's world), what direction is it coming from, why am I wanting to be at that level? Am I living for my outward looks and that which comes with it because if so I am missing the true beauty. And being stuck in a worldly view point/vantage point, only and missing the real me of such depth.
We see people today taking this above verse (3) and up-ing the antics of the way they are embellishing and enhancing- by way of how they speak and the tone they use and what they say among may other ways as well. It can be likened to the level of wearing gold and make up and the likes. We always want to up the antics. People have lost the meaning of true authentic beauty, which is not surface level (verse 4).
When you stay at the surface you cannot get to the root. We can not see the root of our teeth, we only see the top part. If we focus on that then we will never know there is a underlying beneath. If we focus on the underlying beneath then you would not care about “beautify” the outer; you will know you are beautiful and you wouldn't need to enhance it. And this is what God is saying here with these verses.
To further the depth of this topic- Worldly verses Soul: Mathew 19:16-26 is speaking about a rich man who keeps the commandments but doesn't want to give up this world of possession to make it to heaven when he ask Jesus how to make it to heaven. I will use the following metaphor- when one stays in the surface of the pool they never get to know the deep end or learn how to swim; and you are then, therefore, only trusting in what you can do and see within the water, on your own. The person who is telling you he will teach you to swim doesn't really matter to you, as your actions are showing it, same as the rich man, because you have chosen what you can see and touch, only. And that is why he left Jesus with his possessions, only.
Peter however walked on water with Jesus and trusted what he couldn't see and touch. It is a metaphor for believing in the “root of the tooth.” Jesus is the root; and people can believe in him or they can believe in what they can see and touch. - The story: Matthew 14:22-33
“Immediately Jesus made the Disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowed. 23 After had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. 25 shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake, they were terrified. “it s a ghost, “ They said, and cried out in fear. 27 But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.” 28 “Lord, if its you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me’’! 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said “ why did you doubt.?” 32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.33 “those who were in the boat worshiped him saying “you truly are the Son of God.”
*** I like to liken the story as such:
-wind: the unknown/what is scary
- boat- holds the people/safety net
-Jesus/Ghost- the supernatural (material plus spirit) (God with us)
-before dawn/ and waves and wind- dealing with being without God/doing things on their own in this world/chaos
Walking on water- overcoming the world/sin/and having faith
Falling into the water- being human and needing God/needing a savior
Calling to Jesus- he is reaffirming that he acknowledges and respects his savior/ is showing humility and faith
** This is my interpretation above. (the way I view it)
**** I still have problems trusting that God will get me through everything and to not rely on myself I am like Peter when I look at the world and how scary it is I start to rely on myself to make sure I'm good and will survive. So my faith needs to be more solid. in Jesus.
*** So if one is lost in the material world they are missing the Goodness. The true Richness.
**** one last example to sum up everything above- Say two people are going in for an interview to the same job. They are the same age, gender, and similar job history. One is a hard worker, doesn't slack, does his job to the best and respect the employer, but he looks rough and even interviews a little rough, but is the right fit for the job. The other is clean cut with not a stitch out of place, and is a smooth talker, but he slacks off and doesn't know the job as well. If the interviewer is looking at just the quality he can see, then he would miss out on the real deal and hire the less qualified. This is our world we are living in. Every one is surface level that to even try to get to the heart of things or “root” would seem impossible because the “root” to this world and anyone living in it is simply, how white is your teeth.... and no further. But Jesus has come to break that and make people get to the true root of what matters; but then they have a choice of if they want to serve that or serve the world.
